Due to it being a weekend, it took 4.5 hours to get to Jaipur with a brief stop along the way. Once there, I met my guide, Vijaygupta. We toured various sites, including the Amber Fort, City Palace, and Jantar Mantar observatory. Vijaygupta provided excellent information about each location, including details about history, art, architecture, religious and cultural beliefs, and daily life. The quality of the information given was such that a local tour guide shadowed Vijaygupta to learn more about how to give an excellent tour.

There were of course obligatory stops at some local shops, but the amount of time spent in each was not excessive. Additional free time was allocated to allow free exploration of the surrounds at each stop - and we even took a bonus stop at the Albert Hall Museum.

The driver, Lakshman, was safe, corteous, and extremely skilled.

All in all, a worthwhile experience for those with the time only to come to Jaipur for a day.
